These choices are great for your health and you will eventually take the pounds off, especially if you are keeping track of how many calories you consume.

The question is if you will lose fat just around your mid-section. I think this is where the belly fat diets go a little too far. There have been some studies done proving that substituting saturated fats for monounsaturated can help weight loss.

However, there is no scientific proof suggesting that this diet, or any diet, will reduce belly fat. Belly fat diet book writers are trying to catch the trend that is out, so be careful what you spend your money on. All you will get out of it is wishful thinking.

The belly fat diet does have some healthy practices that are worth taking a look at though. Even though the weight reduction won’t just happen in your belly, you will see results.

There are some great recipes and tools in most belly fat diet books. There are meal plans provided along with suggested caloric intakes. Most of the recipes include monounsaturated fats that are good for you.
